R410A
R-22, a single-component HCFC refrigerant, has historically been utilized in air conditioning, particularly in medium to low-temperature applications. It was discovered in the 1970s and quickly became the most widely used refrigerant on the planet. Air conditioners installed prior to 2010 are likely to use R22 as a refrigerant.
Because of its low boiling point, it is only suitable for low or medium temperature applications such as household, farm freezers, and small enterprises. This refrigerant should be used in systems with a low CR (Compression Ratio).
Although R22 couldn’t possibly fade out quickly with a market view, after the Montreal Protocol, an international treaty was signed in which the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) declared R22 as an Ozone layer depleting refrigerant, and since then its production and imports have been on the verge of extinction.
It requires minimum compressor displacement, which keeps it intact. In the case of R12, just 60% of displacement is required, hence its refrigeration capacity is 65 percent more than R12.
When compared to R11, its ODP (Ozone Layer Depletion) is just 5%.
It is very efficient and consumes little electricity.
